Welcome to your first chakra! If this your first time meeting with this part of yourself, you can say hello to it by wriggling your hips if you are sitting down, or if you are standing, you could stomp your feet on the ground and breathe deeply in to your tailbone.  This juicy part of your energetic anatomy is power center of physicality, as it is the blueprint for your physical sense of self.

When your first chakra is at is healthiest, it is a rich, earthy, vibrant red colour and is located at the base of your spine.   This center holds your basic needs for survival, security and safety and extends downward, grounding you into the earth.  It is in this energy center that you connect energetically into our earth.

When  the first chakra is balanced and healthy, you feel:

• secure in your body
• supported and nurtured by the world
• grounded and in the present moment
• a sense of safety
• a strong connection to your body’s intelligence, signals and way of communicating with you
• in-tune with nature
• A healthy flow of sexual energy

Having trouble manifesting anything concrete in your life?   You may be blocked in this energy center.  You see, your outer-world is a reflection of the inner story that you hold within you.  Your first chakra carries the information about the way your physical world is experienced.  If you would like to move into a happier healthier way of being on a physical world level you must release any heavy energy ( negative beliefs, repressed emotions, unhealthy or incorrect perceptions) that limit you from experiencing this.

When your first chakra is imbalanced you may feel:

• as though you are alone
• as though you don’t belong anywhere
• disconnected from others as well as yourself
• spacey or ungrounded
• physical issues in the areas of hips, legs, lower back and sexual organs
• emotional experiences such as fear, anxiety, insecurity and frustration
• lack of financial stability
• inability to create the life you desire

Sexuality and the First Chakra:

Guys: Your sex organs are located primarily in your first chakra and therefore, you carry much of your sexual energy here!  This is why much of your sexuality energy is often experienced as a primal and powerful physical urge or desire.

Ladies: Your sexual organs are generally located in your second chakra, which is why many of you experience your sexual energy emotionally, or need an emotional connection to arouse your sexual energy.

The power of your sexual energy (both Guys and Gals) can increase when your first and second chakra’s connect with your heart center.  This allows a deeper, more profound energetic connection, from the center of your being, to be brought into the your sexual experience.
